Rafael Nadal, a bright young tennis player who has much to win, to be the number one in the world….” “ … he is an example of hard-working and fair play” has said his manager, Tony Nadal…”
.
The starting pistol has given the signal for the beginning of the Olympics. Olympic Spanish team are already in Beijing (China). The expectations are many: Spain has just become the 2008 Football European Championship, Sastre is the new winner in the Tour of France, and of course, the best Spanish tennis player in the last years, Rafael Nadal, has just become the Wimbledon hero.
.
Rafael Nadal, was born in 1986 in Manacor, Spain . He has been playing tennis since he was 4 . He has won his first competition at the age of 8 in Mallorca (Spain). In 2002, he has become the youngest player in the world in winning a game in a TPA tournament -he was only 15 years old-. In 2003, he started to play in a Grand Slam Competition. But ,it is in 2005 , when he has come into one’s kingdom . He has won his first Roland Garros.
.
In this hopeful manner, he has begun his magnificent career. Four consecutive times champion in Roland Garros, twice runner-up in 2006/ 2007 in Wimbledon and at last, winner in Wimbledon in 2008, and the most important score, he has won twelve Masters Series competitions. In the tennis history, Nadal is one of the fantastic-four-players, who has achieved ten victories in these tournament, next to Pete Sampras, Roger Federer, and Andre Agassi. On 18th of August he will appear in the first position in the TPA list after being the number two for 160 consecutive weeks.
.
Admired and loved by millions of people, wherever he goes, a maximum expectation is generated. His tennis way is based in the constancy, not to fear his rivals, and not to give any point for lost before the ending comes. But he feels a kind of fascination about Roger Federer : “ It is easier the Roland Garros was won by Federer than Wimbledon was won by me” has said Nadal in Wimbledon, this year.“I am looking forward to hearing from the success of all our olympic players in Beijing”, has said a friend of mine, but honestly I would prefer to read in a newspaper : “Rafa Nadal has conquered the gold medal in the Olympic Games”. My best whishes. Good luck, Rafa!

(Article for a newspaper, recommendations: attractive headline, including quotes, formal or informal language, background in past perfect or past continuous, and use of passive)

Rafael Nadal, a bright young tennis player who (((has much to win))),MAYBE A LINKING WORD BETWEEN THE TWO SENTENCES? I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN, BUT IT DOES NOT SOUND CLEAR (((to be the number one in the world)))….” “ … he is an example of hard-working and fair play” has said his manager, Tony Nadal…”

The starting pistol has given the signal for the beginning of the Olympics. Olympic Spanish team are already in Beijing (China). The EXPECTATIONS (EXPECTATION IS UNCONTABLE!!) are many: Spain has just become the 2008 Football European Championship, Sastre is the new winner (OF) the Tour of France, and of course, the best Spanish tennis player in the last years, Rafael Nadal, has just become the Wimbledon hero.

-> "background in past perfect or past continuous" Where did you get the tips from? Because I'd like to have them too! Despite it, It still sounds weird to me, and I've corrected them all (I am more used to past simple)

he has begun his magnificent career in this hopefull manner. He has won the Roland Garros trophy or four times IN A ROW (in a row: good expression to learn) , twice runner-up in Wimbledon 2006/ 2007 and at last, winner in Wimbledon - 2008, and the most important score, he has won twelve Masters Series competitions. In the tennis history, Nadal is one of the fantastic-four-players, who has achieved ten victories in these tournament, next to Pete Sampras, Roger Federer, and Andre Agassi. (maybe NEXT) 18th of August he will appear in the first position in(AT?/ON?) the TPA list after being the number two for 160 weeks IN A ROW.

Admired and loved by millions of people, wherever he goes, a maximum expectation is generated. His (((tennis way????))), based ON constancy, not fearING(?) his rivals, and givING(?) any point for lost before ((the ending comes)). But <-THIS IS NOT A GOOD LNKING WORD, MOREOVER, YOU HAVE NOT TALKED ABOUT ROGER FEDERER. IMAGINE WE DO NOT KNOW WHO'S HIME, YOU SHOULD HAVE TALKED ABOUT HIM WHEN TALIKNG ABOUT THE ATP LIST SO TAHT NEXT SENTENCE MAKE SENSE- he feels (((kind of fascinated by))) Roger Federer : “ It is easier thAT Roland Garros was won by Federer than Wimbledon was won by me” - said Nadal in Wimbledon, this year. “I am looking forward to hearing from the success of all our olympic players in Beijing”, has said a friend of mine (THIS WAS SAID BY A FRIEND OF YOU, ELENA, OR WAS SAID BY A FRIEND OFA NADAL??? I KNOW IT IS THE FIRST CASE, BUT BETTER DIVIDE THE PARAGRAPH TO MAKE IT CLEARER), but honestly I would prefer to read in a newspaper : “Rafa Nadal has conquered the gold medal in the Olympic Games”. My best whishes. Good luck, Rafa!
IN FACT, HE'S THE ONLY STILL-STANDING SPANISH TENNIS PLAYER IN BEIJING!
Oh, good work of correction, Mati although I scarcely saw big mistakes but expression 'one's kingdom' sounds me weird.
Elena, are you sure you didn´t pass the writing? It is a excellent post, you seem like a journalist. Congratulations!

Thank you for your corrections Mati, but I disagree in some of them. At the beginning there are some quotations without linking for attracting to the reader.
The use of past perfect or past continous is something natural in newspaper, I have a book "practise writing, it is clair about that if you is writing the background.
The expression "come into (or to) one's kingdom". Its meaning is to achieve recognition or supremacy"
ITs sure he will be the next number one the 18th, he earns or not.
